I came up with a clever idea for the Method and Muse website. Fortunately, everyone went for it — YES! Instead of full-frontal, in-your-face author bios on the landing page, we decided to make Writer Trading Cards.

I like mine particularly well. Why haven’t I done this for my characters?!

I got to listen to our podcast all the way through tonight for the first time and I’m a whole tangle of emotions about it:

I’m proud of my little writer’s group. For taking the leap to try something new, for having the courage to be honest about their hopes and fears, for saying yes when I said “Hey, y’all, wanna do a podcast?”

I’m somewhat terrified (because I’ve never put myself out there quite like this before).

And I’m simultaneously relievedbecause I’m not hiding who I am, what I think, or my passions anymore.

It made me realize I don’t want to just be published and known for my writing and my creativity. I want to run workshops and help with writing camps. I want to go to Cons, participate in panels and help with writing tracks. I want to make other writers feel like they hold the power of the universe in their hands — because they do. And this podcast is a way I can lift others up, cheer them on, cut through the bullshit that holds people back. I’ve allowed myself to be held back for way too long and I don’t want anyone else going through that long, aching nightmare if I can make some noise and wake them up.

So I may be proud, terrified and relieved. But I’m also ecstatic, and on fire, and at peace.

And I’m really, really good with that.
